About HPD

Message from the Chief

As Police Chief of Hailey, I welcome you to the Hailey Police Department website. The City of Hailey currently employs 17 officers, of which 4 are assigned to the City of Bellevue. The Hailey Police Department serves a population of 8,500 and our mission is always to Protect, Serve and Lead Our Community to a Safer Tomorrow.

The town of Hailey, Idaho.

We have seen crime rates drop again in 2011, and I want to thank the citizens of Hailey for partnering with us in helping us keep Hailey one of the safest places to live in Idaho. With continued support we feel we can reduce the crime rate even further. We also value our partnerships with our friends in the non-profit organizations – the Blaine County Drug Coalition, the Advocates for Survivors of Domestic Violence, NAMI, South Valley Merchants Alliance and the Hailey Chamber of Commerce, which provide programs that help us maintain a safe and fun community in which to live.

Shadow, Hailey Police K-9.

One change you will start to notice is a new style patrol car. We recently purchased a 2013 Ford Taurus Police Interceptor all-wheel drive sedan patrol car. The sedan will average an increase of 10 to 12 more miles per gallon than any other car in our fleet. We have also created a part time code enforcement officer who can provide animal control services as well as enforce various city ordinance violations.

Please feel free to explore our web pages, as it is my goal to keep you, the citizens, updated on what is happening in the City of Hailey as it relates to your Police Department.
