Community Audit and Retrofit Rebate Program (CARRP)

ATTENTION: Effective January 1, 2011, the City of Hailey will require a building permit for all window replacement projects as stated in the International Building Code which is adopted by the State of Idaho.

The intent of this requirement is to insure that windows not only be installed in accordance with the manufacturers installation instructions but also to verify that they are sealed properly for air leakage in accordance with the energy code, verify that egress windows are installed in bedrooms whenever possible and to insure that tempered glazing is installed in those locations that are specified in the code. This permit and inspection process will help to insure that you receive the maximum value for your home improvement investment.

If you have any questions regarding any of these requirements, please contact the Hailey Building Department at 788-9815, ext. 16.

Starting August 16, 2010 rebates will be available to citizens who conduct an energy audit by a certified auditor AND make energy efficiency improvements to their building (the audit must be conducted prior purchasing any retrofit materials - see program requirements below for more information). The funding for CARRP is made possible from an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant that the City of Hailey, as well as other local goverments in the area, received from the Idaho Office of Energy Resources. Over $34,000 will go towards the rebate program. These funds are available on a first-come, first-serve basis and the funding is limited. Once the funding is exhausted, the program will end.
